During a holiday trip to Australia I stayed 3 nights at the Elkira Court Motel. I booked the place mainly based on positive feedback and rating (8.0 out of 10) from previous guests, as well as information through HOTELS.COM such as access to a swimming pool and a refrigerator. In retrospect, I am surprised by the gap between what is informed, and what I actually experienced; The room was large and had the following amenities; AC, cutlery, cups & plates, refrigerator, microwave, ironing board & iron, kettle with coffee and tea and WIFI (with lousy speed) The bathroom was quite large The decor was simple and in places worn, but everything worked. The cleaning was poor - above eye level it hadn't been cleaned for weeks (months???) - you could write in the dust (see pictures) On the floor, dried insects and dust mites were found rolling around. The room was not cleaned/tidyed during the days I stayed there - I had to ask for a refill of shampoo (there was 1 small tube laid out on arrival) and milk for coffee The outdoor area had the appearance of decay and inadequate maintenance/tidying up - this applies to the motel area in general and the BBQ/pool area in particular. The pool was closed on arrival, but was opened the second day. The water was then stagnant and filled with leaves and waste - neither particularly hygienic nor appealing (Not used - see comparison of the pictures from HOTELS.COM versus the ones I took) There is no service available - nor breakfast. Bar / lounge / restaurant is not available - i.e. incorrect information on HOTELS.COM WEB page Parking is on the motel grounds, which is locked at night (Not used) The motel is centrally located in Alice Springs with a short walk to the city center, shops, train station, bus stop and attractions - such as the "Reptile Center" and the "Royal Flying Doctors Service". The staff were very nice and service-minded 👍👍👍

Basic, non fancy hotel but if you need just bed, shower and an electric kettle, you’re all set.Nice to sit outside within the hotel property, drink your coffee , read a book under the trees shades.But main thing is location. In the city center, walk everywhere!
