****ZERO STARS**** I had an extremely disturbing and unacceptable experience at the Executive Inn off Highway 820 in White Settlement, TX. I booked and paid over $500 for a six-night stay. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk immediately demanded an additional deposit and stated—without cause—that my cousin and I would be “bringing in roaches.” This assumption was made before we ever entered the room. Toward the end of the conversation, she made it clear she had no intention of returning the deposit regardless, meaning her mind was already made up. For context: we are African American. A white male guest checked in immediately after us, and he was not questioned, warned about roaches, or asked for any additional deposit. The difference in treatment was obvious and alarming. The clerk was aggressive from the moment we walked in. When I calmly asked questions about the deposit—what it covered, how it worked—she continued to mention roaches repeatedly. I told her directly that I was offended and asked why she would assume that about us. She had no answer. After briefly entering the room and returning to the car to grab bags, our room keys stopped working. When we went back to the desk, the harassment escalated. She stated that housekeeping would be entering the room whether we wanted them to or not, again referencing roaches. She also made comments about my six-month-old baby, referred to us as “extra guests,” and told us not to even think about asking for extra towels or linens. At that point, I asked her directly if she was uncomfortable with us being there and requested a refund so we could go to another hotel. I work six days a week and was simply trying to rest. Instead, she told us to leave but refused to issue a refund, despite the fact that we had been in the room for no more than 10–12 minutes, most of which was spent unloading bags. When I asked what exactly we were paying for if we were not allowed to stay, she became dismissive, rolled her eyes, snapped her neck, and said she “didn’t want problems.” Only when I began calling corporate did she suddenly say she would issue a full refund—but only if we left immediately. This was blatant racial profiling and discrimination, plain and simple. It is unbelievable to still experience this in 2025, especially at a “new” hotel. No guest should ever be accused, surveilled, or treated as a problem based on race. If you value respectful service, professionalism, and being treated like a human being—do not stay here.

Everything was good about my stay until I decided to spend some time in the lounge area near the front office. And was asked am I waiting for a ride and that I am not ALLOWED sit there...with out having a room. But I am checked in to a room and have been for 4 days now. I even had this same woman make me a key when I left mine in my room on yesterday. Her approach was very displeasing and found it disrespectful. This is how you handle guest. Well done. Not treated as a guest to the hotel but more like a vagrant off the streets!
