Fairfield Inn & Suites Canton

There is no way this is a Marriott property; it is under renovation but we had one of the renovated rooms and while the bathroom was quite nice, it didn't carry the rest of the room. The carpet was downright nasty; there was food (some cooked, some uncooked) on our floor; and we had either a cockroach or water beetle in one of our rooms (in the new bathroom). The first room we were given was missing the top several inches of the door which was just downright weird. The halls were dirty; piles of dirty towels in a few spots, the elevator was almost gross the carpet was so dirty. The breakfast was less than one would expect from a Marriott. I only ate the packaged foods (cereal and yogurt) and they were fine. Pulling up and seeing over half the parking lot filled with shipping containers, at all weird angles, not even nicely arranged, told me there wasn't going to be a lot of due care for this place. The personnel were very friendly so no complaints there and the location was perfect for us. Being Marriott Titanium, I'm guessing this is a property that Marriott recently purchased from another flag and is working to renovate it to a Fairfield. They'd be better suited to close it and re-open when ready. This place in no way, shape or form should be representative of a Marriott. Marriott should be embarassed. Last note - being a seasoned traveler, one would think that I would have checked the reviews before booking and I didn't -- but they aren't good - food illness from breakfast, bed bugs, etc. I'd avoid this place in the near term for sure.

I will start by saying that the people working here were super nice at check in. They were so kind and friendly. As far as the rest of this place is concerned, it’s a disaster. This place is under construction and it is filthy. My first room was disgusting so they moved me to another dirty room. I didn’t say anything because I was just tired and decided to go with it. In the morning there was construction going on in the room directly over my room. It was so loud it shook my room. The hallways are freezing. Garbage everywhere. I travel a ton and this was actually one of the worst experiences I have had. If the room was just dated and a little dirty, I would have let it go. The noise above my room was inexcusable though. I didn’t even get a full night rest. Horrible. Also, the hotel looks nothing like its pictures and there is definitely no working hot tub.
