I visited Fariyas resort today Thursday February 19, 2026 at noon along with five others. We were not resident guests, only looking for lunch. We were directed to the restaurant Cafe Frichley which, we were told, opens for service at 1230 hours. The menu featured a la carte (limited fare) as well as buffet options. Upon inquiring, the waitress told us categorically that although the menu featured buffet prices for both weekdays as well as weekends, the buffet was NOT AVAILABLE only on that day (Thursday Feb 19). We found that odd. We discovered another restaurant Asian Fusion adjacent to Frichley which had a better a la carte spread and transferred to Asian Fusion. After our meal at Asian Fusion (served by waiter Omkar), at 1445 hours, we found that buffet service at Cafe Frichley was indeed functional. That was even more strange. Cafe Frichley desk at the restaurant entrance was surrounded by three grey suited staff apart from the desk assistant. We asked them how was buffet service on after having informed us that there was no buffet service. One of them fumbled and eventually said that indeed the buffet service was closed. However at 1245 hours, a decision was taken to start the buffet service. That was the oldest part! We find it unbelievable that the buffet service which was supposed to be closed on that day was suddenly commenced at 1245 hours. I don't buy that story that a buffet featuring a large spread (requiring set-up time) could suddenly be kick started at 1245 hours. Would Fariyas care to explain the inexplicable?
