Unfortunately my 3 nights stay in this hotel was not as good as expected (or maybe I expected too much). Location wise, perfectly located out of nowhere which allows us to see aurora for 2 nights. They also offer a wake-up call for aurora. Hotel is also in the middle of a few attraction spots. Took me 10-20 mins to drive to our tour pickup spots. For the room, all bedsheets in mine have pilling problem which makes us super uncomfortable to sleep. Size is decent. As mentioned, this hotel is out of nowhere so you basically have no choice but to dine in their restaurant, unless you drive half an hour to the next closest restaurant or buy food from outside in advance. Beef and lamb were tender, well cooked but has no seasoning at all. Others were ok, nothing exceptional. On average, 6-7000 ISK for a main. Lowkey they can charge you whatever but I would say it's an acceptable premium. Now here comes the worst part. The service was non-existent. Our group was assigned to the furthest table and we had no chance to engage with any waiter/waitress once everything was served. They were also more leaning to stick around at the front desk corner, busy with chitchatting. When we tried to get a waitress to come over, she started collecting our plate while we were still literally eating our food. It's completely nonsnse and unacceptable. Overall, it may be a good place to just stay 1/2 night for aurora chasing, considering the very limited food options and quality of services.
