We've just had a lovely stay. John and Karen; the reception staff, were absolutely lovely and very welcoming on arrival and departure. We were allocated a very nice, spotlessly clean room with an amazing view over the river. The bar staff, particularly Karl were very nice also and he went out of his way to ensure we were catered for. The food was really good but I was sad to see that the Ribeye was off the menu as it was amazing last time. Charlotte served us with a smile in the morning and the breakfast was really good and piping hot. It's a shame the pool etc isn't currently open but we can't wait to come back after it's renovation. Thanks to all!

Absolutely ideal location, beautiful river setting and making a great effort to revamp an aging hotel built like a rabbit warren. There were no swimming facilities as they were being renovated. Our stay had breakfast included which offered a good choice. The main complaint is the expense of the food and drinks, I ordered a vegetable wellington, which was served with mash and green beans. It was an abomination of a flavourless root vegetable pasty microwaved which made me long for Greggs. The food wasn’t even hot and there was a skin on the mash, so how long it was sat waiting for a victim would be anyone’s guess. If I had to do it again, I would, but without the evening meal.
