I tried to work with them to book my bridal shower that would have had a spend of over $4k yet they were unwilling to even include a single bowl of punch or drink of some kind as an act of customer service and gesture of goodwill for spending so much at their establish. RE: Randy I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience to warn other brides and families considering this venue. My sister was married at the Glenerin Inn this weekend, and I was closely involved in the day-of coordination and all floral setup. The wedding itself was beautiful. The venue is stunning, the food was excellent, and the majority of the staff were accommodating, professional, and genuinely kind. Under normal circumstances, I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly marred by the day-of coordinator, Randy. We are a very low-maintenance family and made a genuine effort to work collaboratively and respectfully throughout the entire process. We did not make demands, we did not complain, and we consistently tried to adapt and keep things running smoothly. The only issue raised on our end was our growing frustration with Randy’s attitude and behavior. In contrast, it was Randy who appeared upset about nearly everything, repeatedly finding fault and openly complaining throughout the day. Despite our best efforts to de-escalate and cooperate, the tension was driven entirely by his conduct. Randy was consistently rude, abrasive, condescending, dismissive, and unnecessarily controlling throughout the day. He created tension where none was needed and repeatedly spoke to us as though we were a problem rather than a family working hard to support a seamless event. His demeanor was patronizing and disrespectful, not only toward us, but also toward his own staff and our vendors. One major issue occurred with the MC. My husband had been named as the MC months in advance and had prepared extensively for the role. Despite this being planned well ahead of time, Randy abruptly said absolutely not and declared that the DJ would be the MC instead. There was no discussion, no explanation, and no willingness to collaborate. Even more disappointing, he was rude and dismissive toward our incredibly sweet and professional DJ during this interaction, who had done nothing wrong and was simply trying to do his job. Another particularly upsetting moment occurred when we arrived early to set up flowers, which understandably created debris. I proactively asked a janitor for a broom so I could clean up before leaving. He kindly insisted it was no problem and assured me he would take care of it. Despite this, Randy later berated my aunt about the mess and then proceeded to follow us around with a broom while we finished setting up. This felt clearly intended to make a point and make us uncomfortable rather than resolve anything constructively. An additional unnecessary interaction occurred during dinner. After giving my speech, I finally sat down and managed to take two bites of my entrée. Randy approached and asked if everything was good. I politely said yes and thanked him. He then responded sarcastically, “Well, it doesn’t look like you like it.” This comment was uncalled for, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. I am genuinely shocked that someone with this demeanor is entrusted with overseeing one of the most important days in people’s lives. His behavior was unacceptable and cast a shadow over an otherwise joyful celebration. I strongly suggest that hotel management have a serious conversation with him regarding professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy. I do want to emphasize that everyone else was wonderful and went above and beyond. There was one woman working alongside Randy, and I regret that I do not remember her name, who was an absolute angel. She was kind, attentive, calm, and incredibly helpful. She is exactly the type of person who should be leading events and absolutely deserves recognition and a raise. In the end, we still had a great time, but that was despite Randy’s behavior, not because of the coordination. He was, quite frankly, an absolute nightmare!
