Golden Lighthouse Hotel

The Golden Lighthouse Hotel is a little oasis in Gelemiș/Patara. Unfortunately, the town has made things much harder for itself in recent years. We've been coming to Patara for over 11 years, but no longer for the town itself, but simply for a few days to relax in this small hotel with its family atmosphere. While there are plenty of restaurants and bars in town, the food options have steadily declined in recent years. The famous home cooking of the Yörük people is now nowhere to be found. Grilled specialties and fast food are the main offerings everywhere. Healthy alternatives or vegetarian options are few and far between. However, this isn't the Golden Lighthouse Hotel's fault. The hotel can only be booked with a nice, small breakfast. In 2014, it was also possible to add dinner. For this, you only had to walk a few minutes to the restaurant of the guesthouse in the village center. It was a worthwhile culinary experience, but apparently not profitable for the hotel owner. A shame, but I can understand why. The village needs a change of mindset and needs to offer healthy, home-style cooking again. All the bars in town are worth a visit. We recommend the Medusa Bar, which often has live music, and the Sim Bar, which has a friendly, family atmosphere. Both bars have lovely hosts who have been providing us with excellent service for years. Back to the hotel: The rooms at the Golden Lighthouse Hotel are clean, the beds have become more comfortable, and the service is impeccable. The hotel offers fast Wi-Fi, but there are no televisions in the rooms, which we appreciate. The rooms are cleaned daily. The bathroom is a bit small, but we've gotten used to it. Owner Nadi is a pleasant and reliable man. His assistant, Mehmet, is a very warm and helpful person who, along with his lovely family, keeps the hotel running smoothly. Nadi and his team fulfill every possible request, and we have always felt welcome at the hotel. The Golden Lighthouse Hotel has become like a second home to us. The new pool is lovely. The entire complex, including the garden, is very clean—a little oasis where you can relax wonderfully and which exudes a Zen atmosphere. However, access to the beach, about 1.5 kilometers away, is cumbersome, and the entrance fee of €15 per person has become far too expensive. For two people, that adds up to €300 for a ten-day beach holiday just for the entrance fee, and the same amount is charged for sun loungers and parasols. This is completely disproportionate, especially since the beach area around the loungers and the sanitary facilities aren't particularly clean (cigarette butts, etc.). Therefore, we now prefer to stay at the hotel and forgo the beach altogether. However, in the future, we will only visit the town for a few days at a time, as the surrounding area is no longer acceptable. In conclusion: While the Golden Lighthouse Hotel is developing in the right direction, the town itself is heading down the wrong path, one that has already caused considerable damage in other parts of Turkey. We were here for two nights, in one of the family rooms. Arrived late and had struggle to reach the place, but the concierge was truly helpful for us. There was a varied breakfast and it was delicious. The room was clean, minimalist design and we had a balcony. Patara is really close just a couple of minutes by car. The nearby restaurants and bars are just by walking distance. Thank you for having us! 🙏🏻 The pool was really cold but we gived a chance to it anyway :) maybe next time we should come in October..

Very well decorated room as well as tree gardening atmosphere....So we liked the place and the stay was enjoyable
