Golden Tulip Borjomi

One of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The building is stunning. Exclusive use of the spa felt so luxurious, and combined with the free breakfast in our package, made the hotel feel great value for money. Customer service was great - the staff went the extra mile to greet us, chat with us and make us feel welcome. A special thank you to the receptionist for posting my keys back and to the maid who found them left behind in the room.

I'd never experienced staying in a historic building, but for my birthday, I found myself staying at a hotel that's a unique cultural monument, built in 1892. It's the most iconic place in Borjomi, located just a few meters from the entrance to the central park. It was my birthday, and the hotel staff gave me a pleasant surprise that I'll never forget and will remember fondly. The wonderful and welcoming Eliso works at reception, and I'm grateful for the warm welcome. The hotel upgraded my room from a standard to a junior suite, and I found myself in a true mansion: two spacious rooms—a living room and a bedroom—with windows overlooking the park, a beautiful view, and a balcony. An even bigger surprise was the sweet gift from the hotel—a chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream. Immediately after checking in, I heard a knock on the door, and Eliso congratulated me on my birthday—it was so unexpected. An even bigger surprise was that the brownie was hot, and I realized it had just been made for my arrival. The suites and junior suites overlook the central part of the hotel, while the standard rooms face the courtyard. The rooms themselves are warm; it was even hot, and the mattress is comfortable—sleeping was a pleasure. The rooms are equipped with robes, disposable slippers, towel sets, and shower gel/shampoo/soap. There are no toothbrushes or toothpaste, so bring your own. The internet works very well in the rooms. The room has been renovated, but thanks to the thoughtful interior, I felt like I was in a historic building where ambassadors, princes, monarchs, and other dignitaries once lived. Also included in the price is an hour of spa treatments, which are located on the ground floor and feature a mini-pool, a jacuzzi, and two steam rooms (a hammam and a dry Finnish sauna). You need to book a visit in advance at reception. If no one else makes a reservation before or after you, you can ask to stay longer. I loved the breakfast room and the service! I recommend it; it's a great place and great people!!! Disliked · Overall, I liked everything. The only thing is, the breakfasts could have been better. The service itself was beyond praise. Unfortunately, I didn't ask the name of the man who served the table. Thank you very much for the excellent service. You can eat very well; some food is available from the open buffet, and you have to order the hot dishes and salads. Everything was fresh, but the omelet and salad lacked flavor (I understand that it's not the season for tomatoes and cucumbers, so perhaps they should replace it with other salads during the season to avoid spoiling the experience). The sausages, pancakes, and fruit platter were all delicious. Someone here comments that there aren't any fancy extras like in the Golden Tulip chain. But I'd argue that their presence would be precisely what would transform everything inside with a super-mega, ultra-modern renovation. I highly advise against a modern, hi-tech renovation; you can really feel the vibe of this place right now. If you're looking for the high-tech charm of a modern hotel, choose something else. The hotel is perfectly fine in its current state. It's a historic wooden mansion; why compare it to a concrete box? But inside, the renovation is quite comfortable, well-thought-out, and well-done!

We booked this hotel primarily for its location and the history of the building, which initially appealed to us greatly. However, we expected to find the usual high standards of the Golden Tulip chain, and unfortunately, this was not the case. The hotel clearly needs a major renovation. The room lacked modern amenities, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The spa is a real plus, but the common areas give an impression of neglect and lack of cleanliness, which is quite disappointing for an establishment of this caliber. On a very positive note, however, the receptionist was truly excellent, welcoming, and professional. Overall, we were quite disappointed with the standard compared to our expectations and the hotel's positioning. The value for money was not up to par.
