Our stay at Gora Kansuiro was incredibly relaxing. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating of all of our needs including food allergies. The private “onsen” bath was well needed after days of walking tens of thousands of steps in Tokyo. The staff provided slippers for walking indoors and explained all parts of the ryokan and the bedrooms. There was no need to go searching for food in town as dinner and breakfast was delicious and very filling. The food was seasonal and attention to detail, flavor and presentation was exceptional. The location is also a very short walking distance from Gora train station, only a short hill to walk down after passing the railroad tracks. If we ever have the opportunity to visit Hakone again we would choose this stay again. Overall we had a very special and memorable experience.

This ryokan is one of the best I've ever stayed at. The service was absolutely excellent and of a very high standard. The inside of the ryokan was clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. Both the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were amazingly delicious. I highly recommend it.
