Grand Beach Hotel Surfside West

The people that's raiding this hotel for stars must be getting some kind of compensation for it. There is no way that this outdated hotel with views of looking into generators and dirty rooftops. It's something that anybody that's a tourist coming to florida would want to stay at. I will check in started at three p m.Where they told us to just grab something and come right back.The room is almost ready.We return back at four o'clock.Which is the standard check in time to realize that they actually lied.The room is still not ready after waiting around with children.By five o'clock, I was fed up and I got to learn the truth from everybody speaking spanish behind my back when I demanded some english speakers that the room was actually not ready.Because air conditioning has been broken.The entire day, and the engineering department is still trying to figure things out.That was after five p m.A full one hour standing at the desk while everybody speaking and hushing between each other secretly what is really happening with this room The manager, the likes to hide behind phone calls and emails.Of course comes on the phone it doesn't come to the front desk but comes on the phone and promises me that I'll get my valet for free resort fees for free, and even breakfast for the 2 days that were staying here for free compt. Don't worry. Don't think that that's easily actually followed or agreed upon. Because for the next day, I have to go chase her like a little child to get confirmation of the comp breakfast.That was nowhere on my record.And everybody kept telling me that she never promised me that then.I guess she did promise me that cause they found the note.But they didn't find the vouchers.So she left a note.But guess what instead of 2 days she then decided to only give me one day and she went on her little days off.So of course, there's nobody to talk to, but a wall said the next day you proceed with a new manager.That's, of course, also hiding behind phone calls and emails being unresponsive to this.This is not new to grand beach hotels.This is actually something that they like to do a lot deflecting responsibility and promising things to you, verbally, that they don't actually do at the end of your stay So a couple of recommendations, if you're going to stay here, because the rooms are large in size, make sure that whatever they promise you by phone call for whatever they messed up is actually written in writing in an email.And that they helped up to, what they actually promised If you're looking for a view other than looking at dirty generators, industrial rooftops. This is not the hotel for you, not because they show you pictures of their sister hotel. That's across the street that does have ocean views. And they utilize that to almost bait, you catfish, you into believing that you're actually staying anywhere near the beachfront.You're not Furthermore, if you want any of the amenities, there's no amenities on this side, this is literally like a residence and all the amenities. The restaurants, the pool, the beach. Anything that actually looks like a hotel is on the opposite side of the street. That you need to go cross. So, not so easily done with children. Running up-and-down, right? You're gonna have to walk your children to the children's pool very inconvenient and actually not described in their listing Front desk staff are just rude, disrespectful, unattentive and actually don't care to solve anything for you. They literally just showed app to get paid their $15 an hour and go home. As far as we're concerned, I've never seen a staff here that actually cared to solve anything. But then again, that also goes to managements as well. It looks like they're just doing the bare minimum to shut you up. And if you don't shut up to their liking, they just block you deny you mute you whatever works best for them. That shift. Hospitality is definitely not the name of the game here.... So again, if you don't wanna be upset at broken promises, make sure you get everything in writing. Sad that I wasted 2000 dollars

An unacceptable experience, unworthy of a hotel costing €550 a night. Noisy construction work takes place every day from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, without any prior notice. We were traveling with a young baby, who was woken up every morning by the noise, making it impossible to stay during the day or late afternoon. This is a complete lack of respect for guests. Housekeeping was done late, around 4:00 pm, and only after we complained. The sheets were stained and had holes, which is simply shameful at this price point. The hot water took more than 10 minutes to arrive, which is unacceptable in a supposedly upscale establishment. Faced with all these shortcomings, there was no concrete solution, no gesture of goodwill, no consideration whatsoever. We paid a luxury hotel price for mediocre service. Completely disappointed with our stay at this property. We had issues with housekeeping not coming multiple days during our stay, When I brought our concerns to the management, they informed me that due to the fact that I booked through a 3rd party, I had to wait until our stay was completed to request a partial refund. After the stay, the hotel informed hotels.com that I had to make the request before the stay was completed and they would not offer a refund. I feel as though we were lied to by the management and we did not receive towel service or have the room cleaned multiple nights. The property itself was beautiful it was just very disappointing that the service did not match the level of service expected for the price we paid for the room.
