The Kurhaus Scheveningen impresses with its wonderful location right on the seafront and a special atmosphere steeped in elegance and history. We were delighted with the upgrade to a room with a sea view, which further enhanced our stay. (Our travel provider had sent the hotel incorrect travel details. However, they immediately sought a solution. Hence the update.) The staff were consistently very friendly, attentive, and always helpful – you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The breakfast was excellent, with a pleasant selection and high quality. The spa area is also well-maintained, clean, and inviting. Overall, a stylish and relaxing stay in a charming, traditional hotel. Highly recommended – we would love to return.

I had read the negative reviews beforehand but wanted to give the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus a chance. However, my conclusion is devastating, as the bad reviews almost downplay the reality. The entire building is extremely outdated and looks completely old-fashioned and neglected. The windows in our room wouldn't close properly, and although I repeatedly asked for someone to be sent to repair them, no one ever came. Given the already exorbitant room rates, this lack of service is an absolute disgrace. The incident with our car in the hotel parking lot, for which we paid a hefty 50 euros per night, was particularly outrageous. On the first day, an employee knocked off our side mirror while maneuvering, immediately admitted the damage, and promised us compensation. However, in the following days, I had to go to reception several times and explain the entire problem from scratch each time, as information was apparently being ignored internally. Finally, I was brazenly told to my face that there was suddenly no evidence that the damage had been caused by an employee. No one from management ever proactively approached me to resolve the issue. Not only are guests fobbed off with dilapidated rooms, but they also lie to them after staff damage other people's property. Since the hotel is now completely refusing to cooperate and denying responsibility, I now have to file a police report. This establishment hasn't lived up to its once-prestigious name for a long time, and I can only advise everyone to spend their money elsewhere.
