Fabulous room Great food Lovely staff Very impressed

We got a room with a see view for £49 with an extra £7 for parking, bit of a walk to the main attractions but that’s part of the Blackpool experience, having a nice stroll down the sea front

We've just got home from a small 2 night break. I have to say it wasn't an enjoyable experience. The first night of our stay was a Saturday night and the hotel was extremely busy with a 'balloon bash' event. Some idiot chav nearly kicked the door in on our room and someone else's, twice. We had to get security involved who were genuinely great and eventually got it sorted for us. I can't fault the security. All night and the second day, the hall to our room absolutely stunk of cannabis. Probably due to the same idiot trying to kick our door in at midnight. The next night (Sunday) there was no issues because the hotel was almost entirely empty so we at least got a good sleep that night. Lesson learned, make sure there are no events before we go. The main issue we had and the reason im writing this review is because on both mornings breakfast the plates, cups, small glasses, knives & forks, and even labels were EXTREMELY dirty. To the point we had to ask for a sink to wash our own cups and plates. It was brought to staff attention on the first morning and she promised she'd get ir sorted but 20 minutes later my husband was taking cups up to the room to wash because they were genuinely disgusting. She didn't do anything about the dirty cups, just pretended too. Its clearly an ongoing issue shes aware of. The next morning believe it or not was even worse. There was only a couple of guests and we were all rummaging through piles of plates trying to find clean ones when I came across a plate clearly from yesterday's breakfast which still had scrambled egg left all over it. I am severely allergic to eggs. Anaphylaxis allergic. I have to be so careful. I understand in a buffet there is always risk of contamination but that was just ridiculous. Husband again took plates, cups and small glasses to our room to wash before he'd use them. This time the girl who saw that everyone was commenting on the lack of cleanliness started going through all the stacks of plates and in fairness to her took stacks and stacks of plates through to the kitchen. She still left all the dorty cups and glasses though mind you. There is a small seating section up a couple steps where you can see the sea through the window. 2 out of four tables were still covered in sugar/food from the night before and the little drawers for cutlery we albeit empty but not cleaned it was must be months. They were stained and full of bits. It was genuinely disgusting. I cannot understand how that restaurant is still open being SO dirty. I want to say I'm not generally a moaner, we're in blackpool and normaly we'd just get on with it but this was horrific. It's not acceptable to charge £50 for 2 days breakfast and offer that level of hygiene. Its such a shame because when Hilton owned it, it was a beautiful hotel. Whoever owns it now has let it go down hill remarkably. I will state that the room was clean and more than adequate for the price we paid though if I wanted to be pedantic there were a few broken bits and pieces I could pick out. Would i stay again? No, not unless they hire a decent manager who will whip the restaurant staff into shape.
