I was overall very pleasantly surprised by Grand Hotel Hradec. The hotel is really beautiful, modern and the whole environment feels luxurious and very pleasant. The staff was helpful, nice and professional throughout the stay, which makes a big difference in the overall impression. The food was also great - tasty, high quality and well prepared. Unfortunately, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest minus for me were the very soft mattresses, on which I really had a hard time sleeping. The second thing is the absence of air conditioning in the room. The heating can be set to a maximum of 19.5 °C, which is still quite warm for sleeping, and without air conditioning it is harder to ventilate the room. Therefore, I had to keep the fan open all night, which is quite small compared to the large window, so the ventilation is not very effective. Overall, it is a very nice hotel with a pleasant atmosphere, great staff and excellent food. If the mattresses were fixed and there were better ventilation or air conditioning options, the experience would be almost perfect

The only remaining negative part is limited control of the temperature of the room and mainly missing air conditioning option. Usually very warm inside. To open window, you get noise from the street and morning bell of the bell tower nearby.

Very disappointing experience. The rooms were extremely dirty, and during our entire stay no one came to clean the room. The level of hygiene was completely unacceptable. The reception staff were rude, arrogant, and barely spoke English, which made communication very difficult. Another major issue is that almost everything requires an extra payment. Many things listed on Booking as included are actually not included. Breakfast, jacuzzi, parking, and almost every hotel service requires an additional charge.
