Grand Hotel TiMES Blainville-Mirabel

Bad experience. Especially for a hotel that costs $340 a night, tax included. It's a cheap highway motel in disguise. The employees have a very strange way of treating customers. 1) The outdoor parking lot was full due to a corporate event (not the holiday season), and I wasn't allowed to park for free, even temporarily, in the underground parking garage. There was absolutely no empathy for the problem. I had to pay for the underground parking or park at nearby businesses at my own risk. I was told it would free up around 11:00 PM. So, if I wanted to go to bed early, it wasn't possible because I would have to move the car. 2) The underground parking is paid, but there were no clearly visible signs indicating this before entering. I had to leave 15 minutes after arriving at the hotel, and the receptionist refused to let me take my luggage up to my room in exchange for a free exit token. It seemed very important that I leave immediately, even though the underground parking garage was empty. No sense of hospitality whatsoever for a newly arrived guest. 3) You have to notify reception if you want your room cleaned. The receptionist didn't tell us this when we arrived. Apparently, you have to read a note on the desk in your room upon arrival. Who reads that kind of paper? We were in a hurry and had to leave quickly. The note got lost in the pile of luggage. 4) There are signs of mold growth or untreated water damage on the ceiling above the beds. 5) There's a large puddle of water at the base of the window due to condensation. There seems to be an insulation problem. 6) When I arrived, the guest in front of me was told that breakfast wasn't included. I booked with a group, and our breakfast was included in the price. It was never mentioned to me during check-in. When I called reception after leaving the hotel to ask if it was included (my son had made me doubt it), the young woman at reception confirmed that it was and that it would have been my responsibility to ask them. I obviously objected, saying that it was their responsibility to inform the guest, not the other way around. We then exchanged arguments, and she ended up hanging up on me, even though I had remained polite and constructive. In short, a disaster of hospitality and customer service.

Superb room, very clean!

Hello, First, I would like to emphasize that I am very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is beautiful, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the lounge is particularly pleasant. However, I would like to draw your attention to two important points. First, there seems to be a major problem with the temperature control in the room. When it got colder and I turned on the heating, excessive condensation formed. The room temperature barely reached 20 degrees Celsius, but the window fogged up to the point where water dripped from the top of the glass, down the frame, and onto the floor. The dripping was significant enough that I had to place towels down to absorb the water and muffle the sound of the dripping. This situation is not normal and suggests a problem with the ventilation or the air exchanger. Furthermore, I would like to mention that the receptionist was working alone and did not appear to have received the necessary training to handle bar-related requests. She was doing her best but was clearly struggling. I even offered to help her, which shouldn't have been necessary. More comprehensive training would certainly allow your staff to be more comfortable and better prepared to meet all types of needs. I simply wanted to share these observations with you so that the situation can be assessed. Thank you for your attention.
