Excellent stay at Grand Hyatt San Francisco We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hyatt San Francisco near Union Square. The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and major attractions. The hotel itself is modern, elegant, and very well maintained. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with great soundproofing — very quiet despite the central location. The staff was professional, friendly, and efficient, making check-in and the entire stay smooth and pleasant. Everything felt well organized and high-quality, exactly what you expect from a Grand Hyatt property. A great choice for both business and family travel in San Francisco. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I’m surprised at some of the poor reviews for this place. I am a Hyatt Globalist and have stayed in about 100 properties and this one is definitely in the top 25%. Sure, it could use a renovation, but the rooms are perfect. They’re on the small side but completely normal for the area, and unlike so many other hotels I’ve stayed in recently, the bathroom is completely out of the way and around a corner which is really nice. What I really enjoyed here though is the view and the bed. Since it’s not really next to other tall buildings the view is one of the best in SF. I usually stay at the Hyatt Regency SOMA which also has beautiful views (SF is really one of he most picturesque cities, at least from the 34th floor haha) but like most Regencies the bed there is not great. Grand Hyatt almost always have awesome beds and this place is no exception, I slept amazingly. The gym is lacking a bit for a hotel this size but I also never had to wait for anything there at any time so maybe it doesn’t matter. Pretty great location for business or tourism. So, yeah, it needs a renovation but it’s a nice hotel, in a good location, with decent staff from my experience.

The hotel is very nice. The lobby area is perfect for sitting with a drink or reading. The service is very good, but the lobby staff don't always offer the best recommendations for restaurants. In that case, you might want to consider using a concierge service. The housekeeping staff are very friendly, and the service at the bar is impeccable and the food is wonderful. Sit at the bar; you won't regret it.
