We selected this hotel for the Turkish Airlines layover program for its location. I hesitated to choose it, based on reading reviews about room size, and so many comments about how Asian women were treated. But my husband resolved to book it anyway. Reality: The rooms: they are on the small side, but when compared to other chain hotels (think Hilton or Marriott) with this proximity to places we intended to visit, they offer rooms essentially the same size. The bathrooms had stone floors and showers, and they were very clean. The view: we got the view of the backside of the next building. That said, we got a free hotel room, and spent most of our day out and about. The hotel room view would have been a lovely bonus, but did not negatively impact our experience. We also had no noise to trouble our slumber, so it worked out great. There isn't a coffee machine in the room, but ours included a hot water kettle, instant coffee and tea. We also found 2 complimentary water bottles inside the room's fridge. The front desk: each staff member we encountered was courteous, and some were friendly. My husband took the lead on most transactions, and that served us very well. The wifi: we were disappointed with the wifi. It was highly inconsistent and weak. Breakfast: the breakfast room and team were good. The breakfast was more than adequate. It's as generous or more than a free breakfast at a Hampton Inn. There were several breads, cereal, cheeses, fruits, olives, salads, cheeses, and meats. There were hot options (scrambled eggs, hardboiled eggs,sausage), and soup. And more. Moreover, there is a view of a Roman ruin beneath. Location: convenient. Convenience stores, restaurants, and a hammami are just steps away. Hagia Sofia is just a few blocks away. One must walk uphill for just over a block, but them you're in the middle of all the action. We did not have a chance to try the rooftop hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and recommend it as a reasonably priced choice or a Turkish Airlines stopover program stay.
