Grand Oceano Guest House is a great budget stay in downtown Porto, perfectly located within walking distance of major attractions like Clérigos Tower, Livraria Lello, Porto Cathedral, and Dom Luís I Bridge. The room had hot running water, a fully functional AC, and a comfortable setup, plus a nice balcony window that gives a charming European feel. There are plenty of food options nearby including Indian restaurants (Thali Indian restaurant is just opposit, along with quick budget options like Imperial McDonald’s and cheap halal kebab places, which was convenient for me as a budget traveler. The caretaker is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the reception may not always be available and there is no lift, so be prepared to climb stairs if you have heavy luggage. Overall, it was a pleasant and value-for-money stay in Porto.
