Grecotel Meli Palace

Stayed in October 2025 on an all-inclusive basis as a couple with our three children aged 21, 15, and 14. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, well-maintained, pleasant, and green with lovely grounds. It's geared more towards adults than families. Excellent! Private parking with a security guard. A beautiful outdoor pool on the terrace. Inside, there's a gym and a spa, but access is at an extra cost. A mini-market is also available. There's a pretty beach near the hotel in a small cove. A restaurant is available with some table service. Meals are offered as varied, high-quality buffets that change daily. There's a bar near the beach and another, quite elegant one, near the restaurant. All drinks are included. One area for improvement, to make the stay perfect, is the renovation of the rooms, especially the bathrooms, which are quite outdated. Overall, a very good stay at this establishment.

We've stayed in many hotels... we would recommend this one if you don't mind the negative points and just want to be at the hotel. Negative points: - There's a tourist tax in Crete, which isn't mentioned anywhere if you're not familiar with the area (10€ per day) - The rooms are old and broken - The beds are terrible - Drinks aren't replenished in the room. Water dispenser available - Check-in only from 3 pm or earlier, then payment required - Transfer: advertised as 45 minutes to the hotel, but took more like 1.5 hours - Only English is spoken at reception (there is one receptionist who speaks German) - Fitness room use: €4 per person per day (outrageous for an all-inclusive package) - Rooms (144-146) directly next to the bar, very noisy, and smoke came through the patio door - Table clearers: often too fast and pushy - Wi-Fi only in the lobby, very rarely in the room/on the beach - TV only channels: ZDF and Kika - Entertainment focused solely on children - Room cleaning: only superficial Positive: - Food and drinks were good at first, vegetarian options were the same - No wristbands for all-inclusive - Quiet location, away from other hotels - Bottle refills always available - Tasty drinks in the evening - Understanding staff - Tennis and soccer courts always available - Lifeguards Always very nice and attentive, we were even allowed to go out to sea in a pedal boat.
