Guesthouse Base Okinawa - Hostel

I stayed overnight before heading to a nearby hot spring for a day trip. I was glad I was able to stay at such a low price. The mattress was high-resilience and very comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly. The long-term guests were very kind and helpful, offering advice and advice. The staff were also very attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

Naminoue Beach is right in front of the hotel, and there's a supermarket nearby, so lunch boxes are cheap and convenient. A bunk bed dormitory costs 1,620 to 1,800 yen per night, varying depending on the day. There's a shower and toilet in the room. There's a shelf to put your luggage, but no lockers. There are small lockers on the first floor, but they're hard to use. There are about three shared spaces. There's also a TV room. It seems to have been renovated, and the computers have been removed. Twenty years ago, guests staying over for New Year's were offered free New Year's soba noodles and zoni (rice cakes with rice cakes and zoni soup), but this is no longer the case. The staff has also changed. There are only stairs, no elevator.

This hostel's overall experience far exceeded my expectations. The location was incredibly convenient, making getting around and daily activities hassle-free. What impressed me most were the staff – they were incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming, always wearing a reassuring smile that made you feel instantly at ease. On New Year's Eve, the hostel even prepared a complimentary New Year's Eve noodle-making experience for guests, providing not only the ingredients but also a thoughtful, detailed tutorial. Gathering together to make noodles, chat, and welcome the New Year created a truly precious atmosphere, giving me, traveling alone, a long-lost feeling of "companionship." Everyone in the hostel was also very friendly, with everyone respecting each other and engaging in friendly conversation. Even in Okinawa, a place I was completely unfamiliar with, I didn't feel uneasy or lonely at all; instead, I felt a sense of security, like returning to a "temporary home." If you're looking for a hostel that's more than just a place to stay, but one that creates lasting memories, this is highly recommended. This hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is very convenient, making it easy to get around and explore Okinawa. What impressed me the most was the staff — they were incredibly kind, friendly, and always welcoming, which made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. They not only provided all the ingredients but also thoughtfully included clear instructions on how to make it. Everyone staying at the hostel was also very friendly and open, which made the experience even better. Even though Okinawa was a completely unfamiliar place for me, I felt safe, relaxed, and truly at home here. If you’re looking for a hostel that offers more than just a place to sleep — a place where you can create meaningful memories — I highly recommend this one.
