I stayed for several nights, and the front desk staff were very nice and the breakfast was delicious, but the breakfast staff changed depending on the day, and although I left before closing time, when I went back about 15 minutes before closing I was told they would be closing in less than 10 minutes, which would have been understandable, but there was a lot of pressure to get out quickly, and they called out that they were closing 5 minutes before. It was my fault for arriving at the last minute, but I couldn't help but feel bad that I had made it in time for closing time.

As the name suggests, this is a long-established hotel in Hamamatsu. Its longevity is worthy of mention, and it was a very comfortable hotel. The breakfast buffet in particular had a limited selection, but everything was delicious and satisfying. Since my home is far from Hamamatsu Station, I sometimes stay at a hotel near the station when I miss the last bus because it's cheaper than taking a taxi. While more and more hotels have foreign front desk staff in recent years, this one is staffed by Japanese staff, so the service was polite and pleasant. I recommend this hotel for its location and price among the hotels around Hamamatsu Station.

The room was small, but it was only about 5 minutes from the station, so I was able to stay there cheaply even during New Year's. They didn't offer lotion or other amenities, but they had the bare necessities. Coffee and tea are available on the first floor from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. They also serve a limited quantity of curry in the evenings. Breakfast was a buffet, and in addition to the standard sausages and meatballs, they also had New Year's-themed dishes like simmered dishes, datemaki (rolled omelet), namasu (simmered pickles), konbumaki (kelp rolls), and ozoni (rice cake soup), which I thought was very thoughtful. The front desk staff were also cheerful and friendly. There was a convenience store right in front of the hotel.
