Hampton Inn Lehi-Thanksgiving Point

I have never had such a negative experience as I had at this hotel in all my traveling, which is a lot. When I arrived at the hotel at 6:30 pm I was first told my room wasn't ready. Then when I was able to get the key and take my things up to the room, the nightmare begun. The fumes from the cleaning products were so strong that my eyes burned and I had trouble breathing. I had an oxygen concentrator with me and the thought of turning it on terrified me. Strong chemicals can cause an concentrator to catch on fire. The air conditioning would not stay on and the room was hot, The mini-fridge did not work properly and was warm. The room was not very clean and I didn't even want to look at the bed linens. I went down to tell the desk clerk about the room and my concerns, and that I would need to check out. No offer to see if another room was available, no apology, just an explanation how I would be charged for the night. I rather protect my health than worry about being charged for a room that was unfit. As I was leaving, the clerk did say "Have a nice night". Really? On top of all this, the Handicap door button did not work. I am in my 70's with a full size oxygen concentrator and it would have been nice not to have to hold the door open while trying to push the concentrator through. They put a hold charge for the full amount for 5 nights on my card twice, one when I checked in, and one 2 days later. All I can say is BEWARE. This place is not what you see online. Spend a little more and find somewhere you can be safe and treated like a person and not a burden.

We had booked this hotel expecting a quality experience. Instead, it felt like we were in a poorly run motel 6. Our room was on the third floor. The first thing we noticed was the absence of cleanliness. The carpets had not been vacuumed, the room key didn't work and had to be reprogrammed three times. The TV didn't work, the fan on the heater screeched loudly. The ice machine on the third floor was inoperable- we were told they were waiting for a part to repair it and it has been some time since it was ordered. We asked if someone could look at the tv but were told that they were shorthanded and no one could help us. We asked if we could switch rooms and were told that they were totally booked. ( They did offer to give us a refund if we wanted to find a room elsewhere) We had no fan in the bathroom. At breakfast, the juice dispensing machine didn't work. This was the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel. I don't fault the front desk personnel. They did what they could, given the poor condition of the hotel. Obviously, we will never stay at a Hampton inn again.

Toilet leaked from tank to bowl causing constant noise. Heat/AC sounded terrible, keep me up at night. Breakfast looks nice, but eggs and meat are terrible.
