Refused a refund with a week notice. When did the hospitality industry become less about hospitality and more about gauging customers. Hampton inn should do better! *edited* I appreciate the response, but if you spent less time writing rehearsed replies and more time actually caring about your customers, you’d understand the issue here. A 21-day cancellation policy is absurd. This isn’t a resort in Cancun — it’s Lincoln, Nebraska. I can guarantee the majority of your guests aren’t booking three weeks out. I’m already paying over ten dollars an hour just to sleep in your hotel for one night, and being lectured about pricing doesn’t make the experience any better. Hospitality used to be about taking care of people, not hiding behind rigid policies and canned review responses. Clearly, that’s something you have forgotten.

Dear Mr Patel, Your hotel needs some work, I would not return. At arrival we were downgraded due to our room type being oversold and the front desk agent presented it to us like she was doing us a favor. She said "well, at least you get a room! Sometimes having two beds is nice because you can have space." Lady, I don't want space and my own bed, I want a king bed to share with my lady. I'm not really mad about the downgrade, I'm mad at the time deaf attitude from your desk agent. The bed was one of the worst Hampton Inn beds, hard like a board with the shittiest sheets I can imagine. There were dried food stains in the elevator when we arrived, three days later upon departure I noticed they were still there. A bag of trash sat in front of someone's room our whole stay, too. Have you considered hiring a housekeeping staff? There's no seal around the door in our room and I could hear *everything* in the hallway and adjacent rooms. The tribe of people leaving at 345 am the morning after a football game felt like a defensive line breaking down my door. There are obnoxious guests at every hotel who do this but usually I wouldn't notice because of, well, you know, soundproofing and door seals. Finally, the whole place smells like mildew. My expectations are higher. Edit: the argumentative response is a special kind of validation for me. You can't find a reservation under my name because it was under my girlfriend's, so rather than starting an argument take the feedback and try to do better.
