I booked this stay through the Hilton app, as I do with all of my hotel stays. Prior to arrival, I used the in-app chat to request a Diamond member room upgrade to a larger room that was clearly showing as available online. I was told they would confirm availability at check-in, which I found unusual since I have never been told this before when requesting an upgrade. I later saw that the room I requested continued to show as available online, yet my request was declined without any explanation or attempt to offer an alternative solution. I explained in the chat that I was considering cancelling the reservation and asked if a manager could contact me the next morning. I called the hotel shortly afterward and was told management had already left for the day. The following day, I waited for a return call from the General Manager, but I never received one. In my opinion, it felt like the hotel preferred to sell the room at full price rather than recognize and support a loyal Hilton customer. Last year alone, I spent over 80 nights in Hilton properties and more than 120 nights in hotels overall. Sydney is a new territory for me, and both I and my team will be spending more time there. Going forward, the Simon Hotel or the Holiday Inn will receive my business in the Sydney area. Very disappointing customer service. O Stars imo.

Had to spend the night in Sydney last night, this place was recommended by the guy I was transporting equipment for. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, I was able to have a hot shower in the morning, free breakfast (real breakfast, not a muffin and instant coffee) and room to park my big truck, what more could a person ask for. And the staff were phenomenal, very accommodating. Anytime I’m stuck in Sydney for the night this is where I’m staying. Highly recommend

I would not recommend this hotel. The pool is small and overcrowded—30 to 50 people are squeezed in at the same time, and the water is poorly maintained, which caused me to get an eye infection and miss work for a few days. Safety and supervision are lacking. The breakfast is also disappointing. Despite being advertised as “full breakfast,” it is very basic and far from complete. Overall, service and facilities did not meet expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel.
