Hampton Inn White River Junction

My wife and I rented a room to cut down on our travel time to Dartmouth for surgery. Upon getting our room we discovered an animal in the walls making the light's flicker. We reported this to the night manager immediately but the hotel was fully booked and his hands were tied. In the morning we went to shower. I needed to sterilize before surgery, and the shower was so dirty it was impossible. I used the towel rack inside the shower, and when I removed the washcloth it was visibly too dirty to use (photo attached) When i reported this to the hotel manager Kelly, she was more interested in calling me a liar, claiming every room was built of solid concrete and therefore impossible for animals to get in (seriously? Even a layman knows wiring and plumbing need somewhere to go, why even try that lie?), and gas lit us about the rest of our stay. No resolution of any kind was offered, but instead she decided to shout at me until I had enough and just left. She was totally belligerent and incapable of listening without interruption. Idk whats up with Kelly, everyone else was pretty great. This has been reported to corporate, but I hope this review can save a few people traveling to DH medical center the extra unnecessary stress of a belligerent hotel manager. Also, not that it should matter, but were diamond members. *edit* there's Kelly, still arguing. Kelly, how does the wiring and plumbing get everywhere? Does your building not have insulation? I wasn't trying to be rude before but honestly, I probably should have been. Your hotel was dirty, and you dont know what youre talking about. I tried speaking with you, you were both belligerent and ignorant. I tried speaking with you associate and you interrupted yelling. This is a corporate issue now, you can take you hands off it.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, this hotel is the worse in their portfolio that I've ever stayed in. Sadly it's the only Hilton branded hotel in the immediate area. The good? The hotel is clean. But it's in a state of disrepair at all times. The elevator had a hole in the floor for months. There is perpetually a "We've stepped away from the desk" sign on the front desk (My record was a three night stay without EVER seeing anyone behind the desk) and my most recent stay, I had checked in at 1pm, and by about 6pm, when there were only about five cars in the parking lot, they had checked someone in with two barking dogs and they put them in the room directly across from me. Those people stuck the dogs in the room and then left for about four hours. When I went to the front desk to complain, of course the "We've stepped away from the desk" sign was up. So out of desperation, I walked around the counter to the office door to find the desk person asleep in a chair in the office. A few times I've been there and the front desk person who works during the day has been sitting outside- but I didn't immediately realize it was him as he was dressed unprofessionally (baggy shorts, unkempt hair, etc). Of all my stays so far, this hotel is the only one I have complaints with.

No complaints! Would stay here again. Treadmill worked. Room was clean.
