We had a misunderstanding about my reservation. I booked on the website, submitted my credit card info as part of that, and received an email confirmation. In the US, that's the end of the process until you arrive. However Hauser said they also emailed me a link to pay in advance. I never received such an email (I searched spam folder, everything). Because they didn't receive payment via a link I never received, they cancelled my reservation. They did send a cancellation email, but I overlooked it in my email. I had traveled from the US to Zurich, was on a train from Zurich to St Moritz and I called to see if they could pick me up at the train station when I arrived. That's when I first learned that my reservation had been cancelled about 2 weeks earlier. While on the phone I did find the cancellation email, but I was not expecting anything like that. I had already submitted my credit card info via their website booking tool and received an email confirmation. In the US, that's all that's ever required. Well it was distressing to travel all the way from the US to learn that my hotel reservation was cancelled. Fortunately they found a solution. The type of room I had booked was available for 3 nights. For the other two nights of my stay, they moved me to a smaller room which was ok because I was solo. Aside from the above glitch, everything was great. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Especially Benedict...he is THE MAN. A great people person. The included breakfast buffet was great. Good coffee served by staff. They had a convenient storage locker for my skis. The room furnishings are kind of Spartan like IKEA but it was fine. All solid and functional. The Hauser outdoor terrace is party central for the apres scene in St Moritz. DJ some nights and music all nights. Fire pits and outdoor bar. I enjoyed stopping for a drink every day. Don't worry the music is loud but it shuts down by around 9 pm so it was not an issue for sleeping. I give Hauser a thumbs up and I would stay again. A nice family owned place.
