I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at this hotel. I was refused access to the onsen (hot spring) because I have tattoos — something that was nowhere mentioned in the booking information. If I had known about this rule before booking, I would definitely not have chosen this hotel. At the entrance, they offered me to buy tattoo cover stickers for 600 yen each, and told me I would need at least 3–4 stickers to use the onsen. ❗️This feels like forced extra charges and is unreasonable. It was extremely insulting and humiliating, especially as a foreign tourist. I was treated rudely and without respect. I understand that some places in Japan have rules about tattoos, but if the hotel enforces these rules, they should clearly state them BEFORE people book rooms, especially for international guests who have nothing to do with the reason why locals are afraid of tattoos Because of this experience, I will never stay at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to others.

Stayed overnight here and it was one of my favorite hotels in Japan. The Fujiyama Onsen was amazing, with both indoor and outdoor baths for a full onsen experience. The staff were attentive, and our room overlooked Fuji-Q Highland. They also offer discounted Fuji-Q tickets for hotel guests, which were cheaper than Klook, and we were able to buy same-day tickets upon arrival. Cons: We arrived by bus with starting point Yamadaya Hotel, and the nearest drop off bus stop was the one near Fujikyu-Highland train station. This stop is close to the Second Entrance of Fuji-Q Highland. Unfortunately, the Second Entrance is on the opposite side of the park from the hotel, so we had to wait for the park to open and walk all the way across to the Front Entrance with our luggage. The walk took about 25 minutes. I really hope they make this clearer on their website. If you are coming by bus, hopefully your direct drop off is at the Fuji-Q Highland bus stop near the hotel and Front Entrance of the park Breakfast was good with a great Mt. Fuji view, but around 8am the sun shines directly onto the tables, and the staff did not do much about it even when guests asked to move. Overall, the staff were helpful, though some were better in English than others.
