“A Stay of Highs & Lows “ Stay from Nov 22–26, 2025 The staff at The Quin were amazing — super friendly and helpful! 🙌💛 Their service was definitely the highlight of our stay. Shout out to awe-mazing staffs Zack,Jefferson,Karma,Paul and Sead and all the Security Staffs However, the experience wasn’t as smooth as we hoped. 😕 🚗 Self-parking is at a LAZ garage a block away, which was pretty inconvenient. 🔑 As HGVC Hawaii deeded owners, we were disappointed that the owners’ lounge is restricted to Quin deeded owners only, which made the stay feel less welcoming. Right after, we stayed at the Embassy Suites in Manhattan (Nov 26–29) and had a ✨ far more seamless and enjoyable ✨ experience. Hoping HGVC improves consistency across properties. 🙏

I've had an absolute series of terrible experience with Quin during the holiday, and Amy the manager certainly did not help. Quite some time ago, I called Quin to ask if one of my rooms can have a lower floor facing 6th Ave, and the person taking my call said sure and said they'll make sure there's a note on my account. Fast forward to the morning of and I get a marketing call saying I'm on the 15th floor for both my rooms. I call Quin and talk to a manager about this mix up and unfortunately everything's booked and it is what it is. If they originally said no they didn't have availability that's fine, but to allow their owners to find out like this is beyond subpar. Furthermore, when they sold me on this expensive timeshare ownership, one of the main selling points was literally the Thanksgiving parade and how I can just ensure I ask for a better view ahead of time when it's available. The icing on the cake was when I asked the manager I called that since this happened, if I could at least have late checkout for my rooms since I'm bringing in a car to park, and he said sure we can do 12pm, just let the front desk know when you check in. I tried to do that and I was denied by Amy and given a long-winded lecture of how they don't guarantee these things and can only do one of the rooms as a courtesy. After all this, some courtesy, I didn't know being liars meant being courteous? Definitely not the way I want to be patronized, not to mention saying that to a captive audience after the deed is done (and sold in this case, ah ha) is a huge cop out and disingenuous at best. Also over the years, the time of the owner's lounge has changed and it now closes fairly early, and they no longer have board games for families to enjoy during the day. One of the selling points when I bought in years ago was how there would be food and drinks, and it'll be open all the time (which it originally was). Furthermore, super annoying that they went with smoke alarms where it's often placed over the bed and flashing it's light at you while trying to sleep. I've also asked front desk twice for dental kit and ear plugs and they told me to wait for it to be sent, and it's been 2-3 hours. Hopefully they won't wake me up after I fall asleep, as it's 11:40pm now and before the parade. Lastly, every time I stay here, the sink drains slowly. Not sure if people are washing their hair in the sink or they just have terrible plumping and pipes, but that alone makes this hotel not five star worthy. I'm not sure why Quin is starting to go downhill, but it hasn't been what I've essentially bought a lifetime membership into. Such a shame, since these are mostly issues that could be controlled by the management team, and there's potential for a good impression as they started leaving a pair of Thanksgiving themed Oreos this year, which almost reminds me of higher-tier Hiltons leaving chocolate by the bedstand. But what's the point if they half-effort things and fail on multiple point of contacts when there's an opportunity to fix things? And the lack of respect for your time is astounding. All the constant waiting I had to do every step of the way was the most infuriating part, such as being told to wait at the front desk for a manager and then they helped another group before calling a manager over. Should they not be helping people in the order they come or do they think my appearance and soft voice makes me a second-class citizen? Update: Not sure if deeds here are oversold now, but the owner's lounge was packed full as soon as it opened. Also overheard a family asking for a low floor just earlier this week and they got it, but they proceeded to colonize two tables and a window anyway because they didn't feel like taking the effort to go back up two floors. Okay. On the bright side, finally saw one familiar face as I checked out. Not sure if there's been high turnover, but also depressing to see all these new staffers that obviously don't care much for the owners.
