Every other review mentioning how nice and helpful the staff are, the hotel’s great location and magnificent views are absolutely right. Those things are true. However I won’t be returning to enjoy them. I’ve been a Hilton Diamond member for many years and have stayed in countless Hilton properties around the world. This is the worst. In fact Hilton should drop it until the hotel is brought into this century and thoroughly cleaned! It’s an understatement to say the property needed a renovation last century. However more worrying is the state of the rooms as it’s clear that no care is put into their upkeep. We found the contents of the previous guest’s filthy nose sprayed all over the headboard and TV (yes, buggers everywhere). When I showed the nice and friendly staff photos, they apologised and said they’d clean them off. They didn’t. I went out and got some cleaning material myself and did it. There appeared to be damp or mildew on all of the framed pictures (which are hung crooked) and rusty screws holding up the bathroom mirrors. Even evidence of drinks spilled on the walls which were never cleaned or repaired! One of the pictures on the wall even had an oversized frame showing the back of the frame itself through the glass… why?? The executive lounge was ok, and again, the staff were very nice. However one evening they allowed a drunk man in during the evening executive happy hour with no shirt on while food was being served. Anyway, I will not be returning until the entire place is renovated. If you’re ok with a dirty room in a museum to the 1990s with a great location and nice staff, then this is the place for you!
