We *attempted* to stay here last night; however, there was an event going on in downtown San Jose (not their fault) but them not answering their phones, no directions on where to go with the event blocking off all access to the hotel AND the parking garage is the issue. I understand their was a city event blocking off access to the hotel. The website only stated "city wide event. Please provide extra time to be able to find parking" but no directions how to get to the actual hotel, with every street being blocked due to the event. We couldn't find a way to get to the street the hotel was located on, then google maps brought us thru parking garage to park to get to the hotel. It seemed like normally this was not an issue, but on this day, all Hilton parking was blocked off/unable to drive to and the instructions to drive to Almaden St via google maps, were also blocked off, making it impossible to get to the actual hotel. I tried calling 4 different times and my husband 2 times, to attempt to have customer service/a front desk rep give us instructions on where/how to get to the hotel, but no one answered, each time. Extremely frustrated, we drove away from the hotel to find another hotel to stay for the night. My father-in-law, who is a gold member, called for us, got thru immediately to the front desk (which is absurd that we can't get thru, yet he can). The instructions he was given, was "go to San Carlos St then tell the cop that has the road blocked that we have reservations, and then he will let us in". Are you kidding me? By this point, we had driven away looking for another hotel outside of downtown, but how are the normal, non "high up" Hilton members supposed to be aware that we are supposed to go to a specific street to talk to that specific cop to then be let in to stay at the hotel? So disappointing and lacking in customer service 100%. I will never stay here. Absolutely absurd mine and my husband's phone calls do not get answered, yet my father-in-law's do, because of his status with Hilton? Extremely disappointed.
