I'm really unhappy with my stay here. I was loving it until halfway through my stay I discovered I had been locked out of my room! My room which I've paid hundreds of dollars per night for and which contains my personal belongings. I couldn't believe I was treated so poorly. Apparently this was due to a billing error on their part. To make matters worse, this occurred when I was rushing to change shoes for a work event. As a result I was made late for my work event. I had received a text from the Hilton at 3:41PM asking I go to reception as there was a billing issue, and had planned on stopping in at reception after my latest conference session at 4:35PM. I had to change my shoes prior to heading down as I had to go directly to a work event. My colleagues and boss were waiting outside for me while I went to my room to change my shoes, I discovered I had been locked out, went down to the lobby, was told I had to pay my bill on check in...I checked in 2 days ago! Apparently the terms of my conference meant I was meant to pay up front, however the staff member that checked me in only requested a $200 deposit which I paid. Rather than notifying me of their error and requesting I pay the bill at my leisure, they locked me out of my room like I'm a criminal! This also came at an inopportune time while my colleagues and manager were waiting outside for me. Once I had paid my bill in full, she gave me 2 new keys....they didn't work. I had to go back down to the lobby to get my keys sorted again, all while my colleagues and boss waited out on the street for me. I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed that I have paid literally hundreds of dollars per night to be treated like a criminal, locked out of my room and made late for a work event. Never again Hilton. I didn't pay good money to get treated so poorly and I'm absolutely furious about it. I had really been looking forward to some luxury and pampering and have been left feeling quite the opposite. I've paid in excess of $1k for the benefit of being treated like this. I was so excited about this trip and now I just feel very disappointed and annoyed at my treatment. I thank you for attempting to make things right, most of your staff are fantastic, but it just doesn't make up for the poor treatment. Please don't treat anyone like this again. It's not good enough. Update: the response below was inaccurate. I was never asked to settle the full bill prior to the lockout.
