I had a very disturbing experience at the Hilton Toronto that left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. At around 4:00 AM on March 4th, I briefly went to the lobby to charge my phone. I was the only person in the lobby at the time. While sitting there quietly, I overheard a staff member speaking to another employee and referring to me as “homeless.” Shortly after that, the staff member walked directly toward me and said “Hey” in a very abrupt and confrontational way. There was no greeting, no polite question, and no professionalism at all. This was shocking and humiliating, especially considering that I was a legitimate guest with a reservation at the hotel. Being labeled “homeless” without any interaction or verification is deeply offensive and raises serious concerns about racial profiling and discriminatory assumptions.
