For the type of travelers who are seeking to maximize their experience from the city, for comfort and warmth, this is the best place to stay in. My earlier visits to Istanbul were filtered through chain hotels, which I now realize meant missing a substantial part of the city’s vibe. Staying in Hoppodrome felt like being back to parents house for a vacation and every room here feels like it`s really yours, not yours for a few days. Here, you get all the familiar assurances like good bedding, excellent mattresses and service but also something chains can’t manufacture: a type of warmth that comes only from a family and friends. The staff is very supportive and available at all hours. This plus the amazing food, which their cooks generously make (the kitchen is adaptive and sometimes you may see something very familiar that belongs to your culture in the buffet). The hotel is created from various apartaments tied together through a certain concept, so the rooms, the reception and the breakfast buffet are located in the same street, but neighboring buildings, basically 3-5 minute walk away from each other. I trully enjoyed it, since it was giving me a certain distance and privacy. The breakfast buffet has indoor section and outdoor, on small balcony, where you can watch the bosphorus and enjoy tasty, healthy, homemade food and have your cup of turkish tea. Apart from all that the hotel is located in a wonderful district Fatih, neighboring many historically significant monuments and many shopping areas that tourists adore (like Grand Bazaar). And all are a few minutes away from you so you can enjoy your morning walks near Hagia Sophia, have your breakfast and continue the day exploring. Will for sure be back there next time I`m in Istanbul.
