If I could give this place zero stars I would. We went to check in around 1400 and we were told the room was not ready. No big deal, we were an hour early. Came back around 1700. We were told by Ashton that our room was still not ready. We sat around for nearly an hour. She had a conversation with a manager by video saying that the room had been rented by the hour for a few hours. They had to check if it was clean. Ashton lied to me and told me check in was 1600. I showed her my email that said 1500 was the check in time and I asked to be comped. She had someone else “use” our room for a couple of hours during the time we should have been in it. Ashton told us the room was refreshed so finally by 1800 we went to the room. We walked in and it smelled as if someone freshly smoked marijuana in it, hence why we believe they “refreshed the room”. Ashton had the worst attitude I have ever seen from my many hotel stays. I used to be a diamond elite member and have used IHG many times. Ashton got very nasty when I called to tell her about the marijuana smell and that I have a severe allergy to that. She further lied and tried to tell me I used a third party booking service so she could not comp our room even though it wasn’t ready 3 hours after the hotel check in. As an IHG rewards member, I have never received such poor service. Worst hotel ever!! We asked for another room and she got nasty and snapped at me. No thank you!!! She is awful and hurting your hotel. We went down to the lobby and a gentleman checked us out and gave us a refund. He was wonderful to deal with. Do not stay here.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn recently and had a mixed experience. The bed was very comfortable, and I really enjoyed the nice view from the balcony, which was a highlight of the stay. However, the shower water never really got hot, which was disappointing, and the heat/AC unit in the room was faulty, making it hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. With a few maintenance improvements, this could have been a much better stay.
