In and of itself, a solid 3-star hotel. However, cleanliness left much to be desired (partially black mold in the bathroom, visibly dirty walls in the room, and an overall rather dirty impression of the room). Breakfast is average... the service at breakfast is the only truly positive aspect of the hotel (everyone was very polite, friendly, and accommodating). The hotel's location is also good... the city center is easily reachable on foot. Parking is unfortunately difficult... when we arrived, there were no parking spaces available. The solution is the parking garage around the corner, where you can park for the same price (€15 per night). Now to the real problem and why I can only give 2 stars: I would strongly advise anyone with a pet allergy against staying here. It was clear upon entering the room that an animal had previously been there. This isn't a problem in itself (since the hotel allows pets, which is perfectly fine). After we mentioned our problem at reception, we were offered a move to a new room, but they couldn't be sure that it hadn't previously housed an animal. According to the receptionist, they "actually" only have three designated rooms for pets. However, if more animals are registered, they can be accommodated in other rooms. She admitted she didn't have a record of which rooms had previously housed animals. This is quite inconvenient for someone with a pet allergy. Is it really so complicated to simply keep an entire floor pet-free for guests with allergies? We find this incomprehensible, and unfortunately, it's the reason for our negative review and why we won't be booking this hotel again.

We booked at short notice by phone (3 hours before arrival) and specifically requested a room with a double bed. This was confirmed, but we received a queen-size bed (apparently no more double rooms were available), which was simply far too narrow for us. However, we were given an extra blanket without any fuss. The windows only tilt open, making the room stuffy and too warm. Breakfast was disappointing: Okay for a business trip, etc., but on my vacation, I want to be treated to something delicious. €15/night for outdoor parking... that's quite steep, and we've definitely found better rates within Augsburg. In conclusion: Even though the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, and the location is fantastic, there are hotels in Augsburg in a comparable price range that offer even more for their guests.
