Everything was perfect, except for a little soundproofing in the rooms, otherwise 💯💯💯

Amazing location, amazing accommodation, amazing staff. We booked a private room and it exceeded our expectations for a “Hostal”. Our room had a balcony overlooking the gran via. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay.

I booked this hotel based on reviews, but I have many questions about the actual reviews. I wonder if they differ by room or floor... The room condition is very different from what other reviews say. The room I stayed in was right next to the reception on the first floor. The bathroom was spacious, the room was beautiful, and my first impression was good. The receptionist was friendly, and the shared electronics were available. However, when I actually stayed there... The room smelled strongly of mold. When I opened the drawers, the smell was so strong that I couldn't use them or the closet. After showering, the bathroom and floor were damp and sticky, perhaps due to poor ventilation, making it difficult to step on (the water didn't drain properly either). The smell at night was a given, and I could hear a banging sound like pipes banging somewhere in the bathroom area. Every night of my three-night stay was difficult. It rained for more than two days during my four-night stay, and perhaps because of this, the moldy smell and sticky air in the house were unbearable for my family. The small terrace was blocked by the buildings in front and behind, and the window of the next room was visible... It seemed like a rather difficult environment to actually use. One of the most difficult aspects was the extremely slow Wi-Fi... It was almost as if nothing was working... While it was a great location with many advantages in terms of distance, my memories of Barcelona are quite poor due to the structural limitations of the room I stayed in. It's a shame... I have absolutely no intention of returning.
