HOSTAL SANTEL SAN MARCOS

I booked a double room with a double bed for Saturday, March 7th. When I arrived, there was no one at reception, so I had to book through a link. They gave me one code to enter and another to retrieve the key from a lockbox. When I entered the code, there was no key in the lockbox. They changed my room to a tiny one where two people could barely fit on the bed... The heating didn't work, there were no blankets in the wardrobe, and the bed only had thin sheets and a thin duvet. The bathroom was also tiny. The best thing about the room was a streetlamp that was visible from the street... In the end, we decided to leave because we were freezing. They charged me €99 for that room. I certainly won't be going back, and I don't recommend it. A terrible experience.

This place is awful. We waited an hour and a half for them to give us a code to enter, in the freezing cold of Salamanca and pouring rain. The room was disgusting—everything: sheets, bathrooms, floors, balcony. They blocked me on WhatsApp when I sent videos, and their customer service is terrible. I asked for a complaint form, and they told me they'd send it to my WhatsApp. It's completely lacking in value for money, because it's not even cheap. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. It's a nightmare having to rush out to find another hotel, and they don't offer any solution.

Hello, my experience has been bad, honestly. It's a shame that such a good location is such a bad hostel. The toilet makes a noise like it's possessed; not even a priest or exorcist could fix it. If the Warrens were alive, I think this case would be impossible to solve. I'm going to call Iker Jiménez to come and listen to the EVP recording of Mrs. Roca—a noise that somehow wakes up the next-door neighbor. The water overflows from the shower tray. I have a private pool to myself, but the curtains have bullet-shaped holes. The cleaning is nonexistent. Since I've been here, I've only seen the receptionist once. The elevator is worse than the one in The Shining; all that's missing are the twins. You have to hold down the elevator button to go up and down; it's not just pressing it once, you have to hold it down, and it doesn't inspire much confidence. I don't recommend this hostel. They claim to value the price, but I don't know, not everything is cheap; cheap things end up being expensive. Honestly, it's a shame the neglect because this hostel has potential, and the owner doesn't know how to take advantage of it. He should make some repairs. I only recommend it because it's close to the center, but I wouldn't stay again. It's simply a shame that you can't post videos or pictures so you can hear the noise the toilet makes, but anyway, I don't want to describe the beds—they're folded and sagging, the pillows have a bit of cement in them, and the mattress is best left unmentioned. In short, I don't recommend it; look for something else.
