Hotel 81 Cosy

We stayed here for a holiday in Singapore. The location of this hotel is actually pretty good. It's very close, just a few minutes of walking from minimarkets, restaurants and MRT station "Outram Park". On the front of the hotel, there is a space which I think you can use for car drop off which is really convenient especially for people who carries lots of baggages. However, I must say that the entrance is not really suitable for wheelchair as there is no ramp as far as I know, so you must lift the wheelchair in order to get into the hotel. It would be better if they provide a ramp for wheelchair users. And also, there is only one elevator for staff only as far as I know and guests are only allowed to go to upstairs via stairs, this may be a problem for wheelchair users who wanna go upstairs to reach their room. I think it's best for wheelchair users to book the rooms on the ground floor. It would be better if the elevator can be used for the guests and the staffs also. Staff and service were excellent and helpful. They speak pretty understandable English. The hotel itself is a pretty small one but I understand as it's located in the old side of Singapore in Chinatown. Room was actually pretty small and not consistent in size. We booked two rooms on the same floor and the size and the layout is different. But I've talked to locals nearby that this hotel, when compared to the price and size, is already the best deal with the best room size. I have to say that the room were absolutely clean and you can ask the staff to clean up the room and change the towels everyday, shout-out to Izzmed, housekeeper, and Joshua, manager. There was a special faucet for drinkable water. It worked at first but somehow the water from this faucet turns black but we don't really use it as we just buy water bottles from supermarket so it's not really a problem for us. It could be a problem if you really want to use reusable bottles, be sure to check the water before filling it. The checkout time is at 11 AM, which is shocking for us as the usual checkout time is at 12 PM rathern than 11 AM. And only two persons are allowed inside a room, which can be a problem for big families who are used to stay with more than two people at a single room. I think they could adjust the checkout time and allow multiple people inside a room. They could offer extra beds for that. Overall, it was honestly a pretty good experience staying with this hotel. Just be careful of the drinking water and always check it before filling it. It's really close to minimarkets, restaurants, and an MRT station. And also, please consider some difficulties when you are bringing disabled person to stay here. You may ask for rooms that are on the ground floor on the receptionist.

Ideally, customers would be able to book hourly rooms in advance so they don't have to wait too long.
