Hotel Amaris Embong Malang

The location is quite strategic on Jl. Embong Malang

I only stayed one night, but it was great; I enjoyed my stay. 👥 The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were efficient. Once, my electronic key card for the room was disconnected, and they helped me right away. 🛗 The elevator works efficiently. 🛏️ I stayed in the "Smart Double - Queen Bed" room, and it was indeed a large and comfortable queen bed, just like in the photos. It had a TV (with few channels), but it was fine for a short stay. There was a small table with amenities: kettle, coffee, tea, and water. The A/C worked perfectly and was nice and cold 🥶❄️. The street can be a bit noisy, as it's quite busy. I think it depends on which part of the building you're in, but if you're in one of the rooms facing the main street, you can hear the traffic. If you're sensitive to noise, bring earplugs. It wasn't a problem for me. 🚿🚽 The bathroom was a good size and had good hot/cold water pressure. 🍽️☕️ Breakfast was included. I must HIGHLIGHT the breakfast buffet; it was excellent! There were many options available (Indonesian food, bread, jam, coffee, juice, eggs, fruit, etc.) and plenty of space on the tables and chairs, and it was clean. There was always staff available in the area to assist/refill supplies, etc. 📍The hotel's location seemed central and excellent to me. It was just a few steps away from the "Daytrans Surabaya (Embong Malang)" bus stop to catch the shuttle to the airport the next day, and from the "Tunjugan" shopping center for a bit of leisure. Although it's on a busy avenue, I didn't feel unsafe at all. There are hundreds of shops nearby to suit all budgets. Overall, the hotel is very quiet and clean, excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it in Surabaya. Thank you for everything!

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I already knew it was a budget hotel. But I didn't expect the room to be so poorly maintained: the ceiling had black spots, the bathroom mirror was broken, there were no hangers in the bathroom, and the mattress seemed so dusty that my son had a relapse of his allergic cough. The location, at an intersection, is also incredibly noisy. The sound of motorbikes and cars could be heard even at dawn.
