Penthouse windows blocked by concrete walls. Be careful before booking the penthouse The hotel has a great beachfront location and a nice pool, which is why we chose it. Unfortunately, our experience with the penthouse was extremely disappointing and very misleading. At check-in, a staff member mentioned that the penthouse did not have a direct sea view, except from the public patio. That sounded reasonable. What they did not mention is that the apartment essentially has no outside view at all. The three living-room windows are completely blocked by concrete walls from a newer and taller building that was just erected weeks ago. Construction is in progress and will be for another year or more and bang on walls early in the morning. The result is that the “penthouse” feels more like a basement built on a rooftop. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. During our stay it rained, and we discovered that the only two windows that actually face outside leak water into the room. Other issues quickly added up: • No toilet paper when we arrived • No water pressure in the shower • Only one key for a group of five people • Old and uncomfortable couches • The air conditioning blows directly onto the beds, making it difficult to sleep with it on • No phone in the room to contact reception • Wi-Fi does not reach the bedroom • The unit is on the 4th floor with no elevator At one point I unfortunately lost the key card and the hotel told me the replacement cost was 350 Mexican pesos. That was not the real issue — the problem was the general lack of flexibility and willingness to help throughout the stay. When I raised these issues at the front desk and asked to speak with the manager, I was told he was not available. Instead of acknowledging the problems or apologizing for the inconveniences, the staff seemed mainly concerned about making sure I paid for the last day of my stay. They even handed me a letter saying I had to pay by the end of the day or leave. To be fair, the beach and pool are nice, but the misleading presentation of the penthouse, the lack of basic amenities, and the absence of customer care made this one of the most disappointing hotel stays we have experienced. What travelers should know before booking the penthouse: • There is no real outside view — the windows face concrete walls. • The unit is on the 4th floor with no elevator. • There is no water pressure • Wi-Fi is weak in the bedroom. • Bring extra essentials (toilet paper, dish soap). The beach location and pool are nice, but travelers should know exactly what they are booking.

There's no elevator. We stayed on the top floor (4th) and there's no one to help with luggage. The mattresses are dirty, smelly, old, and have no mattress protectors. The sheets are old, and there are no hand towels. And when you leave, they treat you like you're going to steal something. They're incredibly rude. We will never return to this horrible place. 🙅

The rooms are very comfortable, the location is excellent (beachfront) and it has a pool.
