The price-performance ratio is not right here. While the grounds are beautifully landscaped, the rooms are quite run-down. We had a villa outside the resort, separated by the road. It was quite noisy in the mornings. Breakfast was minimal and the service petty (one extra slice of toast cost $3!). We've had much better experiences in Costa Rica, for example in La Fortuna or Tamarindo.

The hotel is located right on the beach. The hotel grounds are very beautiful and well-maintained. We stayed outside the main complex in the Ocean Breeze Room. The room is very small, but it has a lovely terrace with hammocks. It's described as "rustic," which is a kind way of saying basic. The wood used in the furniture looks completely different in the hotel's pictures than it does in reality. It's dark and shabby in many places. The wardrobe looks like you wouldn't want to put anything in it. It's actually quite old. But it is clean. There is one more problem: to get to the hotel itself, you have to walk about 200 meters. This is very difficult during and after rain. You can only manage the walk in flip-flops; dress shoes or sneakers quickly get wet and muddy. The path should be covered with gravel or planks. There are also small bungalows. I definitely wouldn't want to stay in one of them. They are very small, dark, and have no terrace.
