A typical Swiss hotel, meaning it's a bit dated, but charming and authentic. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good 👍

Room, food, and amenities were adequate for a 3-Star European hotel but there were 3 problems: many of the hotel and restaurant service staff, were visibly sick, unmasked and coughing into the air or their hands which were not disinfected before handing menus or dishes. The sauna was not warming properly. We reported this daily to the staff who promised to repair it but didn’t. One of our beds bed felt like a hammock. We discovered it had been assembled with half of the slats upside down. We repaired it ourselves rather than waiting for them.

The hotel’s restaurant is a particular treat, especially at breakfast time. Guests can look forward to a wide variety of breakfast options, catering to different tastes and dietary needs. Hotel Bären is well-situated for travelers arriving by public transport, with a bus stop conveniently located nearby. This makes access to the hotel straightforward and stress-free. The surrounding area is peaceful, providing a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s worth noting that the hotel does not have a lift, so guests will need to carry their luggage to the upper floors. This may be a minor inconvenience for some. The views from the upper rooms is stunning. Being Interlaken, dont expect value for money. Everything here is costly.
