Is it common practice to turn away potential customers?

Calling this hotel a "Bellavista" is a gross exaggeration, as it doesn't actually exist. The hotel's heyday was surely decades ago. The need for renovation is obvious throughout. The upholstered furniture in the common areas, bar, and lobby is worn out. Rooms: Cleanliness is mediocre, the shower is tiny, the radiator is ancient with a non-functional valve that keeps the room at a tropical temperature, some of the furnishings belong in the trash, the wardrobe with sliding doors is wobbly, the TV has no German channels, the mini-fridge is noisy (and empty) – the only solution is to unplug it, the double doors to the adjacent room are acoustically impossible to hear, and the guest in the next room coughed and gagged loudly every night as if they were standing right in the middle of the room... Infrastructure: A tiny elevator, realistically only able to hold two people. Insufficient parking spaces, no garage. The spa treatment rooms have all the charm of CIA interrogation rooms. The thermal pools are uninspiring, with no massage jets or anything similar, just two shoulder/neck waterfalls. There aren't enough loungers. Breakfast/Restaurant: The best breakfast we had was the one we ordered to go, as we had an appointment before 8:00. Otherwise, there seems to be little interest in refilling food and drinks that guests have consumed down to the last drop. Everything served once has to last until 10:00... The juice dispenser sometimes only dispenses colored water and/or an amount that's too much for the provided glasses... We gladly skipped dinner (3-course set menu €39.00 without drinks) and visited an excellent restaurant a short walk away for the duration of our stay. Drinks were included for less :-) Conclusion: Montegrotto isn't really a highlight; you need a decent hotel to visit the only attraction there, the Y-40 diving center. The hotels are hopelessly outdated, and their managers are ignoring the fact that thermal water alone is no longer a viable business model.

A haven of peace that regenerates, welcomes, and simply does good. All the staff are very kind and professional, but a special shout-out goes to Lorenza, always attentive to her clients' needs, helpful, and welcoming with her warmth, and to Mirko for his kindness, the attention he provides, and the wonderful massages he provides. With his professionalism and expertise, he has given me a profound sense of well-being that has lasted. Thank you so much. We'll see you again soon.
