I hesitated to write this, but guests deserve to know what happened during my stay at Hotel Benidorm Mexico City. During an earthquake, my family followed the hotel’s evacuation directions only to end up trapped in the basement garage with the gate down—no exit—while tiles, plaster, and debris fell around us. Walls cracked, ceilings crumbled, and even the building’s base was separating from the sidewalk. It was terrifying and completely mishandled. Later that night, staff member Griselda Cañas told us that most of the hotel had been closed for safety reasons and asked us to move floors. At that point, we didn’t feel safe staying any longer and decided to check out early. But when we requested a refund for the unused nights, the hotel refused to acknowledge the very real earthquake damage. Griselda hung up on the Hotels.com representative multiple times and claimed she didn’t speak English—despite speaking English with me earlier. She insisted that only the operations manager, Pedro Ortega, could authorize anything, yet he was “on vacation” and completely unreachable, even though over 80% of the hotel was shut down. Hotels.com ended up refunding us themselves because the hotel refused to take responsibility. The lack of safety, accountability, and basic honesty from this hotel was shocking. I’ve posted photos of the damage. Please think twice and research carefully before booking.

Everything is fine, they don't put all the amenities in the room but if you ask for them they will bring them to you, they are very friendly and try to help you all the time.

The hotel offers excellent value for money. It's close to the metro and across from the bus stop. The staff is friendly and efficient.
