Hotel Biwako Plaza

Taking the price into consideration, I'm giving it 3 stars. First of all, the price was reasonable despite it being in Moriyama, which was helpful. The front desk staff were also polite and nice. As everyone has said, the facility itself is quite old, and the walls seemed thin. I could hear the sounds of the toilet and bath in the next room, as well as voices and footsteps in the hallway, quite a bit from inside my room. At night, I could even hear the person in the next room snoring, which was quite annoying. If you are sensitive to noise when sleeping, it's a good idea to bring earplugs with you.

I stayed at this hotel in late February with a breakfast-included plan. My conclusion was, "It's fine if it's old! It's cheap, you can read manga, and you can drink a decent amount of alcohol!" If that appeals to you, I think it's worth giving it one more star. I used a discount from Yahoo! Travel to get the price, which was about 8,300 yen for two people on a Saturday. The hotel had a Showa-era feel throughout. The floors were hardwood and slippers were provided. However, the hotel was well-cleaned and Wi-Fi was available, so I didn't feel inconvenienced. There were manga on the first floor, an all-you-can-drink option until 11:00 PM, and a decent selection of alcoholic beverages. They didn't offer beer. They even offered one free curry per person, which was a great deal. The bathroom was a unit bath. There's a nearby super public bath, and I received a discount coupon from the hotel, so I got a good deal. While newer hotels often have USB ports near the beds, this one doesn't. There was one outlet at the head of the bed and another near the desk. The breakfast was worth the price. The view from the dining room was beautiful.

This is my second time staying here. It's a very nice hotel.
