A beautiful building, with beautifully designed rooms but I think there’s a bit of work to be done to unlock this hotel’s true potential. Our room was quite literally in the lobby, next to the reception. There was terrible insulation, so you can just hear absolutely everything, we may as well just have our bed in the middle of the lobby, it felt like we didn’t even have a door! We were woken up at 8am to extremely loud music (70db in the room…) playing from the hotel restaurant which is in the courtyard next to the room. The lock on our door was also very questionable, I think one push and someone could’ve entered the room. There were security occasionally around, however not all the time. The staff spoke limited English which again is a bit of a struggle for a hotel. The kettle stays in the lobby which for us was great, but I guess not if you’re in one of the higher floors (although given what some people do in hotel kettles, I did have a bit of reassurance knowing it was in the lobby). The hair dryer was just a small travel one which was a bit disappointing for a hotel on such grandeur. The housekeeping was great, the rooms were always tidy and well kept. The amenities were lovely L’Occitane products which were also a nice touch. The spa was amazing (although a little on the pricey side), however it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. There were a few things in the immediate area, and it was an easy walk into town from the hotel too. The restaurant was nice too, the steaks were lovely however they didn’t ask how we would like them, and they both came out very well done which was a bit disappointing. Definitely has a lot of potential but needs a bit of work on fine tuning these issues!

10/10 for the stay. The staff was very friendly; upon check-in, we were greeted with a Maestro Dobel rocking horse. Perhaps the only downside was that the premium room we were given was smaller than it appeared in the photos; however, it was impeccably clean, the bed was super comfortable, and they pay attention to every detail. They have a terrace with a pleasant view, perfect for spending the evening. Parking is available. They offer water and coffee in the lobby, which is a nice touch. I definitely recommend it.
