The surroundings are very bad; the location is near the main train station and surrounded by many junkies, but the hotel is clean.

The hotel's location makes it a good starting point for various excursions, for example, to the old town or the city park. It's just a few minutes' walk from the train station. The hotel seems to have been frozen in time and has its own unique charm. Our room hadn't been renovated in a long time; the carpet was worn, and the bathroom was very retro (no shower cubicle, but a sitz bath with a shower curtain, which could be a problem for people with limited mobility). However, this was acceptable for us. Breakfast offers something for everyone: muesli, yogurt, a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, boiled eggs, salads, jam, very tasty rolls, and pastries. There was also coffee (from a thermos), tea, and hot chocolate. It's a shame that the reception staff is so unfriendly. We had been warned by other reviews, but were still shocked by how unfriendly guests are treated in this hotel. The friendly cleaning lady is expressly excluded from this criticism.

The Hotel Bremer Haus was just a 10-minute walk from the train station. The rooms were very spacious, as was the bathroom. There were windows that could be opened and even a refrigerator for the fruit we had brought with us. We needed a small spoon for our tea, which was brought directly to our room upon request. The breakfast was delicious and offered a good selection.
