Hotel Cabbio, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Ticino, deserves a solid 4-star rating! Our stay was characterized by a breathtaking setting and charming ambiance that enchanted us from the very first moment. The location directly on the lake is unbeatable – the view from the window of the glittering Lake Lugano with the surrounding mountains and the gentle lapping of the waves is simply magical and perfectly started our day every morning. You feel like you're in a postcard, especially in sunny weather, when the light dances through the white curtains and the scenery invites you to dream. The breakfast buffet was a highlight: fresh fruit like juicy melons and berries, homemade jams in small jars, crusty bread, yogurt, and a selection of cheeses and cured meats – all lovingly arranged on the white-clothed tables in a bright, inviting room with high ceilings and elegant arches. The juice selection, including freshly squeezed orange juice, and the coffee machine rounded off the experience. The atmosphere here is reminiscent of a traditional Italian palazzo, with the scent of fresh pastries in the air and the soft lighting from the large lamps. The rooms exude charm and coziness; our attic room, with its exposed wooden beams in dark blue and warm yellow tones, immediately felt homey. The double bed was comfortably made up with soft sheets, and the furnishings, with its ornately carved headboard, small desk, and flat-screen TV, were tasteful and functional. The staff were always helpful and smiled, raising the service to a good level. Nevertheless, there are a few things missing from the full score: The rooms are beautiful, but a bit small, which becomes noticeable during longer stays, and the breakfast selection could be more varied, especially for vegetarians. The bathroom could be redesigned, and the pull-out shower head is rubbish, forcing us to shower sitting down. The silicone seals on the bathtub are also horrible and should be replaced. Nevertheless, the Hotel Canobbio completely captivated us with its unique location and authentic flair. We will definitely return to enjoy more of this idyllic corner of Italy – thank you so much for the unforgettable moments!
