Hotel Casa Alpina

Positive Points: The place is close to the village of Maringá, and by car it's about 15 minutes from the Escorrega and Véu da Noiva waterfalls. The breakfast is simple but very good. Negative Points: Right off the bat, we didn't have a good reception. Instead of the host welcoming us and showing us the house and rooms, he immediately offered us a quad bike tour, so the welcome wasn't good. The rooms and beds, as well as the entire structure of the house, need renovations. The bathrooms don't have drains to dry off; after showering, the bathroom is a lake. The toilet has a pull-string mechanism. Only the mattress on one of the beds was good; the rest was quite worn. The house is beautiful and rustic, but it needs good renovations to the roof, floor, and bedrooms. There's a hot dog they call Lobo on the property, a strange dog with a strange face that lunged at my daughter. I informed the host's wife and the host himself about what had happened. Be careful, especially if you're bringing children. The house is very beautiful, but it seems somewhat neglected. You don't see a living soul; it sometimes seems haunted. They leave it open, and you don't see anyone. Another thing that shocked us was that there are many animals in the area, such as frogs, spiders, and caterpillars, because it's near the woods. My daughter asked to go to the bathroom, and my wife took her. When we got there, we found a frog that was just chilling there, but it could scare someone. We went to inform the hostess, André's wife, if she could remove it. She did go, but the way she removed the animal was incredibly brutal; she kicked it with such force that we were shocked. Animal cruelty is a problem these days, and we must emphasize that. Seeing that scene, we felt bad because we didn't want to harm the animal, but the woman's attitude did. We felt guilty about it, but we couldn't do anything. In short, that's it. The house is beautiful but poorly maintained. It's only good for the price and its proximity to some places in Mauá.

I stayed at Casa Alpina for 4 days and everything was very good and worthwhile. Excellent reception and accommodations.

The hotel is extremely well located, 300m from the center of Maringá. The breakfast has many delicious options and the service is excellent. I am always very well received and the hotel gives a feeling of welcome. It's an older building, but if you ask about its history you'll understand its architecture. Great value for money!
