We stayed at the Hotel das Salinas (by Alboi Group) in Aveiro and, overall, it was a very happy choice for a family stay. Starting with the location: it's one of those places that makes life easier. It's close to the center and the canals, which makes it very easy to walk everywhere, take walks, stop for a coffee, return to the hotel and go out again without complications. For those traveling with children and wanting to maximize their time exploring the city, this is invaluable. Another very positive point was the room solution for a family of four. We had enough space to be comfortable, without that feeling of "we're adapting to the bare minimum". The room was pleasant and, above all, restful. I found the comfort quite good and the soundproofing helped a lot: after a day full of walks and visits, arriving in the room and having silence makes all the difference. The breakfast also deserves a mention. It was really very good and with some variety — it's not just "the basics to get by". There was enough variety to please different tastes and to allow us to alternate from day to day without falling into monotony. Starting the morning like this ends up giving the day a different rhythm. And, of course, the friendliness of the staff. Always available, helpful and with a genuinely welcoming attitude — that feeling of being well received, without unnecessary formalities, but with professionalism. On the negative side, there is only one aspect that weighed on us: the elevator. It's noticeable that it's a solution installed later and not integrated from scratch into the building. In practice, it's very narrow and can only be used by one person at a time; in addition, it gets stuck easily (it happened to us once). Being on the 3rd floor, this had some impact — not to the point of ruining the stay, because we spent almost the entire day out sightseeing, but it's one of those things that, if we were going in and out more often throughout the day, could have been much more inconvenient. Nevertheless, on balance, I would recommend it again: it's a well-located, comfortable hotel with good rest, an excellent breakfast, and a very friendly staff. If you sort out the elevator issue (or if you're on a "check-out in the morning and check-out at the end of the day" basis), it's very close to ideal for a stay in Aveiro.
